About Grandma Tillie's Bakery

**Specializing in made from scratch baked goods and wholesome food**

I come from a long line of excellent cooks from both sides of my family. My Great Grandmother Tillie on my dad’s side was born in Norway in 1875 and traveled to America. She met my Great Grandfather in a logging camp where she was a cook. They married in 1894 and in 1895 my Grandma Alpha was born. Later Grandma Tillie baked bread in wood stoves in Pt. Alexander, Alaska to sell.

My Grandmother Florence from my mom’s side was also an outstanding cook and baker; I remember standing on my tip toes in front of her glass oven watching and waiting for her delicious dinner rolls to finish baking.

My mother Erma is truly the best cook I have ever known. I remember always having freshly baked bread when we 4 kids were growing up because she baked 4 loaves at a time without the aid of bread machines or mixer. To this day I measure the success of each loaf of bread that comes out of my
ovens by how close it comes to the taste and texture of her bread.
